Vine Types — Our Products

The majority of Novavine’s plants are benchgrafted and offered as both Dormant Bare Root and Green Potted vines. We also provide custom grafted vines with a clone and rootstock combination of your choice. If you are planting in a colder, phylloxera-free area, you may order own-rooted vines as well.

Our goal is to provide you with the most appropriate vines for your specific site and planting schedule. If you’d like assistance determining the best vine types for your particular situation, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help you determine the best vines for your specific planting needs.

Dormant Field Finished Bench Graft

This dormant grapevine is a one year old bench grafted plant that has been grown in the field nursery during the previous growing season.  The grapevines are mechanically planted and grown using a drip irrigation system.  The farm uses biological inputs to balance nutrients and produce plants of an optimal size, with vigorous multi-branch root systems.

Dormant Field Finished Rooting

For growers who want to graft in the vineyard,
Novavine offers a one year old rooted rootstock cutting that has been planted in the field nursery and nurtured through a balanced growing system.  All dormant vines and rootings are kept in cold storage until you are ready to plant in the spring.

Green Potted 4 Web

Green Potted Bench Graft

A bench grafted plant that is grafted and grown in the greenhouse to be ready for delivery the same spring.  Grown in a custom soil mix with several strains of mycorrhizae and a premiere potting system to ensure quality plants.  The vines are grown using a probiotic system, resulting in exceptional roots, balanced growth, and strong tissues for vigorous growth and excellent performance from day one!

Super Nova Supernovacrop

The Super Nova is your grapevine for situations that require extra tall plants. The 36 inch height makes it ideal for replants, but also can reduce labor time in the field. We use a larger version of our tubette to create an impression root mass with great structure.
